Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Lmited, an Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Ghana, has presented food items to Mama Happy Life Enhancement Foundation (MAHLEF), a non-governmental organisation (NGO), at Bankuman, a suburb of Tema Manhean.

The items are bags of rice, maize, gari, beans, oil, drinks, candies, cartons of fish and chicken and milk and spaghetti, diapers, toiletries and others.

General Manager of the company, Jin Zhengi, also known as Kofi King, said the donation which is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility is to demonstrate their love and support to enhance the living conditions of all at MAHLEF.

To him the foundation is doing well in the community, particularly, its peculiar role in education, teenage pregnancy, widow and orphan care. “It’s time to show love and support to the people around us who are doing great things to make our communities better,” he said.

Executive Director of MAHLEF, Rev. Georgina Happy Crentsil said the NGO is a community-based orphan care programme which focuses on teenage pregnancy and equipping the children with vocational skills and educational training and also taking care of their basic needs such as nutrition, maternity clothing, and medical bills.

The foundation is currently handling 29 teenage mothers, 200 children, 45 widows, and over 130 single and struggling mothers.

She therefore expressed her excitement and appreciation to Sunon Asogli Power Ghana Limited for the continues support which goes a long way to assist them.

“We really appreciate Sunon Asogli company for this great work they have done. They keep on supporting MAHLEF in this community. They are always here when we call and so we want to say a big thank you. No other company has responded to us like they have done. We are very grateful,” she added.
