The National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) has launched a Business Support Organization (BSO) directory to accelerate the growth of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in the country.

The BSO which was in collaboration with the International Trade Centre’s (ICT) SheTrades Initiative seeks to connect three million women entrepreneurs to the market by 2021 globally.

ITC SheTrades is an open source repository containing information about organisations providing business support services to SMEs, most especially women entrepreneurs, the Director of Entrepreneurship Development at NBSSI Habiba Sumani said.

The purpose of the Business Directory is also to provide the user base with the information they need to become aware of, contact, locate and to raise awareness among women-owned businesses of the business support services available and also function as a central repository for BSO services and information open to women-owned businesses in the country.

The directory will also create awareness of the existence of key support organisations, connect women- owned and women- led businesses to a wider customer base and increase the visibility of BSOs in Ghana.

“The BSO Directory will be a one-stop catalogue to access key profiles and relevant BSO contact information as well as the services they provide” Madam Sumani opined

She further explained  that the directory will be updated regularly with additional and current information about the BSOs nationwide. She is however positive the directory will be beneficial to women-owned businesses and aid their growth.
