The third edition of the prestigious Ghana Business Leaders Excellence Awards Ceremony has now been rescheduled to take place at the classy Swiss Spirit Alisa Hotel, Accra, on Saturday 17th October 2020. This follows lifting of the Presidential embargo on the organisation of Awards Ceremonies.
The Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Maafo, will be the Guest of Honour at the Awards dinner.
Originally planned to take place in June 2020, the Awards Ceremony was postponed indefinitely on account of the coronavirus-induced partial lockdown.
The Ghana Business Leaders Excellence Awards Scheme has its origins in the Diamond Jubilee Business Leaders Excellence Awards, whose Top Brass Ghana was mandated by the Ghana 60 Years On Anniversary National Planning Committee to organise in 2017 within the context of the Programme of Activities to commemorate 60 years of Ghana’s Independence.
The Diamond Jubilee Award Winners included: Dr. Kwame Achampong-Kyei, Glico Group; Mr. John Sackah Addo, Prudential Bank Limited/Former Governor, Bank of Ghana; Dr. Felix Kwaku Anyah, Holy Trinity Medical Centre & Spa; Mrs. Doris Berlinda Arkorful, Linda Dor Group; Rev. Dr. Kwabena Darko, Darko Farms & Company Limited; Mrs. Patricia Poku Diaby, Plot Enterprise Ghana Limited; Mr. Rockson Dogbegah, Berock Ventures Limited; Mr. Said Assad Fakhry, Interplast Limited; Mr. Mohammed Kanaan Kalmoni, Japan Motors Group.
Also among the Award recipients were: Mr. Bhagwan Ramchand Kubchandani, Melcom Group; Dr. Kwame Kyei, Unity Group; Dr. Daniel McKorley, McDan Group; Mr. Torgbor Mensah, DDP Group; Pharm. Kofi Nsiah-Poku, Kinapharma Limited; Dr. Theresa Oppong-Beeko, Manet Limited; Dr. Tony Oteng-Gyasi, Tropical Cable & Conductor Limited; Dr. Nii Narku Quaynor, Ghana Dot Com Limited; Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo, Kristo Asafo Group; and Mr. Yussif A. Yakubu, Ussaya (Gh) Limited.
Significantly, after the Awards ceremony, several of the Award Winners expressed their conviction regarding the relevance and desirability in instituting the Ceremony as an annual Awards Scheme. Accordingly, the Awards Scheme’s designation designation was changed in 2018 from Diamond Jubilee Business Leaders Excellence Awards to the Ghana Business Leaders Excellence Awards Scheme – to be organised annually by Top Brass Ghana to honour outstanding and deserving captains of business and finance.
According to Mr. Isaac Dakwa, Director of Top Brass Ghana, the Awards dinner will bring together “la crème de la crème” of Ghanaian business and finance and be organised in strict and absolute compliance with the prevailing Presidential directives on Social Gathering/Distancing and other Safety Protocols.
