CIIG holds 4th Annual General Meeting

The President of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (CIIG), Rev. Asante Marfo-Ahenkora has disclosed that Coronavirus has disrupted many activities planned for this year.

This, he said has led to a postponement of scheduled programmes of the institute for the year 2020.

He was hopeful that with the relative success of containing the pandemic, and the easing of restrictions activities should return to normal.



According to Rev. Marfo-Ahenkora, insurance professionals from the various industry companies had to adjust their ways of conducting their normal business.

Speaking at the fourth Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the CIIG held at the R.S. Amegashie Auditorium, University Ghana Business School, he called for the need to adopt innovative ways to sustain businesses in the industry.

The meeting was also used what the passage of the insurance law entails so as to position members to take advantage when it is passed into law in order to improve their operations

The meeting was held under the theme “The New Insurance Bill 2020” – the way forward.

The Head of Supervision of the National Insurance Commission Mr. Seth Eshun took the members of CIIG through the Bill and pointed out new areas of opportunity to them.

The Chairman of the CIIG Awards Committee, Lydia Lariba Bawa, reminded members of their major programme of organising the “CIIG Awards Night” which is slated for November 28 at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
