Overseas Commerce hands over refurbished office to Tema West NCCE

Mr. Boaz Amiel, the Chief Executive Officer of Overseas Commerce Ghana Limited, said the company – as its way of contributing to providing an enabling environment for civic engagement and also sensitise the general public in the upcoming election in the Tema West Municipality – has refurbished the NCCE office.

The project includes painting, electrical works and partitioning the classrooms to create offices for NCCE officials.

The two-unit classroom block that was given to the Commission was converted into a total of four offices.

Mr. Boaz Amiel added that the intervention by Overseas Commerce Ghana Limited is aimed at complementing government’s efforts toward sensitising the electorates of Tema West municipal assembly on the need to participate, and how to, in the upcoming general elections.

Mr. Boaz Amiel expressed hope that the refurbished facility will go a long way in aiding the National Commission on Civic Education to discharge its constitutional mandate within the environs of Tema West municipality.

He added that as per the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, providing an enabling environment for civic engagement is key to national growth and electoral developments in a country.

“It is, thus, vitally important that the commission is provided with the needed support and right tools to enable it achieve its purpose.”

Mrs. Dora Hammond, Director of Administration-NCCE said: “We at the Tema West office of NCCE are grateful to Overseas Commerce Ghana Limited for taking it as part of their Corporate social responsibility to ensure that the NCCE gets needed support and resources to aid us in carrying out our constitutional mandate”.

Present at the short ceremony were officials from the Tema West National Commission on Civic Education and Overseas Commerce Ghana Limited, being present for the opening.
