The Business and Financial Times (B&FT) would be publishing a 12-part series on the theme Strategic Sourcing: the Inextricable Link to Africa’s Long Term Industrialisation, Supply Chain Governance, and Economic Development.

The series, to begin on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 and every Wednesday for 12 weeks, shall be authored by Professor Douglas Boateng, a Professor Extraordinaire – Industralisation, Supply Chain and Value Chain Governance and Development.

The series’ publication is in partnership with the secretariat of the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and PanAvest International & Partners.



The 12-part series shall cover topics including sole sourcing, competitive tendering, AfCFTA, UNSDGs and Africa Beyond Aid, and several others.

It shall also include quizzes and Q&A competitions for readers to test their knowledge on sourcing, procurement and logistics.

Douglas Boateng, Africa’s first ever appointed Professor Extraordinaire for supply and value chain management (SBL UNISA), is an International Professional certified Chartered Director and an adjunct academic. Independently recognised as one of the vertical specific global strategic thinkers on industrialization, supply and value chain governance and development, he continues to play leading academic and industrial roles in sectorial reforms both in Africa, and around the world.
