Ethiopian Airlines, the largest aviation group in Africa, resumed commercial flight operations to Accra, Ghana on September 3, 2020.
Flight ET 8799 departed Gate C3 of Terminal 3 of the Kotoka International Airport at 12: 20 pm local time on Thursday Sept 3, 2020.
Ethiopian is currently serving more than 70 destinations worldwide.
Area Manager of Ethiopian Airlines, Yemesrach Alemayehu, told said: “Ethiopian Airlines is happy to back and we are ready to serve the travelling public. We never really stopped operating during the border closure. We supported the government of Ghana by transporting PPEs to help fight COVID-19, and did some evacuation flights that brought home hundreds of Ghanaians.
“We are always happy to support the government and people of Ghana. As we resume our scheduled flights, we will provide our passengers with the best of travelling experience.”
She added that Ethiopian is ready to increase frequencies to accommodate the demand by focusing on the wellbeing of customers and staff.
