CH Foundation donates US$100,000 to the COVID-19 Private Sector Fund

The CH Foundation, an independent non-profit organisation has presented a cheque for  US$100,000 to the Ghana COVID-19 Private Sector Fund at a ceremony in Accra.

The donation is in support of the construction of Ghana’s first-ever infectious disease isolation and treatment facility.

Cynthia Darko Acquaye, Group Chief Operating Officer of CH Group Limited, who led the team to make the donation to the Fund said, “Our foundation is focused on transforming lives by supporting various initiatives of which health is unquestionably inclusive.”

She further noted that the company recognizes the importance of the hospital and the contributions it would certainly make to Ghana’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic especially at this critical point in the country’s history where the positive cases were rising along with the death toll.

‘As an indigenous Ghanaian company, we are proud to be associated with this right from the beginning and feel we should be here to give it a final push to reach its successful end’. She applauded the private sector fund for leading the initiative.

“Ghana’s economy can only fully flourish when among other things, health concerns have been addressed and effective remedies are put in place to prevent the spread of infectious diseases,” she added.

In a statement, Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Ghana COVID-19 Private Sector Fund, Dr. Justice Yankson expressed gratitude to the CH Group for their donation towards the completion of the 100-bed infectious disease isolation and treatment facility.

Other officials who were present at the project site during the donation were Kwaku Bediako, Member, Board of Trustees, Private Sector COVID-19 Fund, Dr. Dan Amoah, Executive Director of CH Group, Kingsley Sarpong, Managing Director of Chase Petroleum Ghana Limited, Fuseina Abu, Managing Director of Gold Key Properties, Bartholomew Darko, Managing Director of Tema Tank Farm Limited and Yaw Okyere, HR Manager of CH Group.

The CH Foundation was formed by CH Group Limited, an indigenous Ghanaian-owned holding company with businesses across multiple sectors including oil and gas, real estate development and management, agribusiness and waste water management.
