Junior Shapers Africa (JSA), the premier organisation leading the ‘Raising Boys Right’ Advocacy in Africa has announced that it is going virtual with its programmes for the rest of the year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Starting off is the JSA Phenomenal Abrantie Academy a 10-week online virtual seminar to be held on video conferencing app Zoom for boys aged 5 -17 years commencing Sunday, June 7, 2020. It will be held 1-day each week for 10 consecutive weeks.
There will be two sessions each week for boys of different age groups; Younger boys between 5 to 10 years will be taken through Values Training & Acquisition for the 1st session and older boys aged 11 to 17 years will have a Goal Setting Master Class for the 2nd Session where they will be guided to set goals each week under various categories for different aspects of their life such as academic, personal development, spiritual, self-care, cognitive etc.
This online virtual seminar to be organized on the theme; “Attitude is Everything”, will be an academy designed to teach, mentor, groom and guide young boys to acquire personal values and set S.M.A.R.T goals for themselves and to inspire them to cultivate the right attitude and mindset to succeed in life as they transition from childhood to adulthood.
After the 10 sessions, the boys would have acquired their own personal values and set 10 S.M.A.R.T goals which will help them improve different aspects of their lives necessary for their overall upbringing. They will become value driven and learn how to set and achieve goals for themselves independently as they grow up to become responsible men.
Setting goals at such a young age will help them discover their purpose/passion, and build the right attitude and character for their development especially now as they are home in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Participating in this virtual seminar will also enhance the communication, leadership and presentation skills of these boys which is necessary for their future development as they transition from childhood to adulthood. JSA will be monitoring and reviewing the fulfillment of their set goals to evaluate their progress in subsequent sessions.
