COVID-19: 5,918 cases, Death toll rises to 31

Two more persons who tested positive have been confirmed dead, raising the death toll of Ghana’s COVID-19 cases to 31.

Number of positive cases have also risen to 5,918 out of which 1,754 have recovered.

This is according to an update from the Ghana Health Service on May 19, 2020.

The Greater Accra region still leads with the highest number of cases of 4,422 followed by the Ashanti region with 881 cases and the Central Region with 212 confirmed cases.

The Eastern Region has so far recorded 100 cases with the Western and Western North regions recording 98 and 57 cases respectively.

The Volga Region has 41 confirmed cases and the Northern Region, 31. The Upper East and Oti Regions have nothing recorded 26 cases and the Upper West currently has the lowest numbers in the country with 21 confirmed cases so far.
