Ambrose Dery donates towards COVID-19 fight

Ambrose Dery, Member of Parliament (MP) for Nandom Constituency and Minister for Interior, has donated medical equipment and consumables to the St. Theresa’s Hospital in Nandom in the Upper West Region of Ghana.

The MP also donated sums of money to the Nandom Health Directorate to enable officials fuel their vehicles so that they could go round and sensitize community members on the viruses.

The items donated were 100 pieces of coveralls, 100 pieces of respirators,95, 2000 pieces of disposable gloves, 480 pieces of surgical gloves and 1000 pieces of surgical nose masks. The rest were 100 pieces of face shields, 50 goggles, 100 overalls, 10 Wellington boots and 10 infrared non-contact thermometers.



The gesture, according to Mr. Dery was meant to support the hospital in the fight against the novel Coronavirus pandemic and Cerebrospinal Meningitis (CSM) which has so far killed over 40 people in the region.

According to him, this is the time the health facilities needed the support of all to help fight the pandemic disease affecting economic activities in Ghana and the world. “We all need to contribute our quota to support government and the health officials to address the diseases posing risk to mankind,” he said.

Acting Medical Director of St. Theresa’s Hospital Dr. David Aduwia, expressed profound gratitude to the MP and Minister for his kind gesture and timely response to the situation.
