The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has emphasized Ghana’s commitment to supporting Liberia in terms of economic cooperation and other investment opportunities that the two countries may explore for the future.

He made this assertion when he welcomed the Vice President of the Republic of Liberia, H.E Jewel Howard Taylor at the Jubilee House in Accra on Tuesday.

Dr. Bawumia stated in a twitter post: “I assured her that, President @NAkufoAddo’s government will continue to work with Liberia to strengthen the cordial ties existing between the two countries.
She praised Ghana for the help it gave to Liberia during the years of political instability”.

Madam Howard Taylor’s visit, follows on the heels of the newly elected President, George Weah, who also recently was in Ghana for a two day visit to meet with President Akufo-Addo.

Ghana and Liberia relations goes way back to the times when President William V.S. Tubman of Liberia and Ghana’s Kwame Nkrumah helped to facilitate the establishment, in 1963, of the Organisation of African Unity.
