For over three years, Odebrecht Ghana, a leading engineering and construction company with over 70 years’ experience, has been supporting the College of Engineering of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in many productive ways.
Odebrecht Engineering and Construction, again, in February 2018, supported the successful organisation of the College’s 2018 Annual Career Fair in Kumasi, Ghana. The College’s Annual Career Fair hosts thousands of students especially those pursing disciplines in science and engineering at the KNUST College of Engineering in Kumasi.
Since its establishment, Odebrecht Ghana continues to invest in the human resource base of Ghana by supporting important educational activities that produce professionals for the industry. Odebrecht Ghana has career-building opportunities for students and they are in the form of internships and Young Partners programmes specially designed to help students gradually transform into professionals with technical competencies that match international standards.
Excited students of the College that visited the Odebrecht Ghana booth at the Career Fair expressed admiration at the magnitude and finesse of the projects that have been successfully executed by Odebrecht across the world and expressed desire to work for the company in future, should they get the opportunity.
On behalf of the College, the Provost, Prof. Mark Adom-Asamoah thanked Odebrecht Ghana for the continued support to the College and the deliberate investment in enhancing the capacity of students of the University.
According to Vanessa Ashun, in charge of Human Resource at Odebrecht Ghana: “Odebrecht Ghana is focused on encouraging and motivating students, including females, to learn and overcome challenges, and to pursue careers in the engineering field, making them valuable addition to the national human resource base and helping them launch out on a professional career path with international standards. This is one of the corporate social responsibility commitments of Odebrecht in Ghana.”
