Metalex Group Limited says it will continue to support the country’s construction sector with its quality aluminium metal products.

The company, which was incorporated in Ghana as a private company in August, 1992, engages in the manufacturing of Aluminium sliding doors, windows, and roofing sheets amongst others.

It has been making an increasingly impressive mark in the West African construction sector for over three decades, with the aim of offering total building solutions to companies and individuals in the region and beyond.

Today, Metalex has the largest share of the Ghanaian Aluminium metal products markets in terms of volume of sales.

The main customers of METALEX are estate developers, individual private developers and other State and Governmental Agencies spread throughout the country.

The thrust of METALEX’s strategy is to increase market share, achieve real reduction in costs, and remain number-one in the Ghanaian manufacturing industry.

Since 1984, Metalex Ltd. (now part of the wider Metalex Group) has proved itself to be a leader in Ghana’s rapidly expanding construction materials sector.

Metalex provides an extensive range of Aluminium roofing sheets – a product segment that forged the company’s early reputation and still represents its highest sales. The firm also manufactures and sells a broad portfolio of building products: including additional roofing products and systems, screws, razor wires, iron rods, bricks (including standard perforated, half-perforated and decorative slices), stone-coated dura-tiles, and plastic tongue and groove (T&G) ceiling systems.

Mr. Agyare Danquah, the Executive Director’s exceptionally diverse business interests – from radio stations and alcohol distillation, through to salt production and steel manufacturing – have helped to solidify his reputation as one of West Africa’s most successful entrepreneurs.

“Quality is key, hence we ensure that we stringently source our raw materials from the industry’s best suppliers. We always get samples and thoroughly compare them before we decide what to buy. Reliable after-sales service and delivery periods have also certainly contributed to the Group’s success today.

“At METALEX, we put our customers at the centre of what we do. We also believe in providing superior client service and achieving client satisfaction, prompt delivery, value-added solutions, technical support and quality products and reliable after-sales service.”

He said the company aims at providing total building solutions to clients of every scale, from ‘do-it-yourself’ consumers to large corporate entities.

“One of our major clients today is Amandi Construction Company – the leading civil and marine engineering solutions provider in Ghana today. We also have customers from as far afield as Benin, Togo, Burkina Faso and the Ivory Coast.

He said Metalex as part of its marketing strategy provides transportation directly to construction companies.  The products are also retailed directly in the Group’s own outlets and via other stores throughout Ghana.

These outlets are located in multiple locations throughout the wider Accra Metropolitan area, he added.

Metalex Clay products are sold through its retail outlet at Plant Pool (Abelemkpe), on the outskirts of Accra, while its metal and plastic-product ranges are sold through separate branches located on the Spintex Road.

The Metalex Group’s facilities house an impressive range of machinery.  These include among others Roofing profile machines, Coating machine, Razor-wire cutting machine, Brick-making machine for floor and roofing tiles.

Beyond that, the company regularly replaces equipment as it becomes obsolete. Such investments and upgrades of machinery have resulted in a higher turnover for the company, as quality products are being manufactured and customer satisfaction has been enhanced accordingly.

Sheet materials for example are cut very accurately, and this results in the quality finish on our products.

Of course, all of these cutting-edge facilities would be meaningless without the top-notch, specialised personnel in place to guarantee the smooth running of operations.

Metalex employs over 580 workers who are highly skilled and qualified, and trains them with a diverse range of training programmes.

Metalex has successfully managed to meet the industry’s challenges by developing a clear and recognised market positioning through its ethical, social and environmental stance.

Metalex seeks to diversify its product base and also ensure continuity of the company.
