According to him, the relocation is aimed at getting much closer to their customers, especially the women who do petty trading at the main Kumasi lorry station in Obuasi; and also to bring convenience to customers and ultimately take those customers out of congestion.

In an address, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Kofi Ampofo Agyapong, assured customers of delightful customer service – saying the bank will spare no effort to ensure that customers are happy doing business with it.

Mr. Ampofo Agyapong emphasised that the banking crisis has taught them all a lesson, and has strengthened and broadened their scope in happenings of the external business environment for banking – particularly in the area of risk mitigation; and told customers to have confidence in the board and management delivering excellent service and innovative products to serve their needs.

He finally appealed for government to reduce the current 25% corporate tax, which is really suffocating a lot of the rural banks, so that the banks can make enough profit and be able to support government programmes through their corporate social responsibilities.

The Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive, Elijah Adansi-Bonah, commended the bank for its support to the municipality through its many social responsibility interventions – especially on Farmers’ Day.

He advised traders at the lorry station to open an account with the bank and do business with it, so that they can make enough profit to enable the bank support other community development activities.
