Ghana’s COVID-19 numbers hit 5,127 with 22 deaths

Ghana’s COVID-19 cases have crossed the 5,000 mark to reach 5,127 with 22 deaths. Most of the deaths are associated with underlying ill-health.

According to Dr. Badu Sarkodie Addo, Head of Public Health Directorate, the age range for the deaths are between ages 9 and 82 years.

He said the mean age currently is 25 x 5 and the median age is 52 years.

A further breakdown revealed that the median age for male deaths is 52.4 and that of female deaths is 58.1.

Greater Accra still stands as the region with the largest records of COVID-19 Leading with 68.2% followed by the Ashanti region with 18.2%.

He said: “The deaths are just associated with the COVID-19 disease but are not established as the cause of deaths.”
