eTranzact Ghana Limited, a leading electronic payment service provider, has presented a cheque of GH¢5,000 to support the construction of a 30-bed dormitory block for the Baptist School Complex and Orphanage (BASCO), at Suhum Trotor in the Eastern Region by the Citi FM Foundation.

As part of eTranzact’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project, Kofi Pianim, General Manager for Financial Services at eTranzact Ghana, explained that impacting lives is the real legacy of eTranzact.

“At eTranzact, we do not take these things lightly. Businesses are not just set up for profit. Businesses are also to touch lives. Based on the foregoing, we brought the GH¢5,000 to support Citi FM’s project and encourage the station to keep on touching lives,” Mr. Pianim, said.

Touching further on the company’s CSR process, he said: “We identify key but underserved communities and then we target these communities with tailor-made solutions, and it might not be just cash, it could be material and cash, or it could be material only, but we like to look at cases on a one-on-one basis and then we define the CSR that will suit them,” he added.

He explained that there have been several implemented initiatives that have not received any publicity as far as touching lives is concerned, therefore the public is not aware of some of the contributions eTranzacthas made to some communities in some time past.

“In the past, we would rather just do it without the spotlight, but then again you will come across people who have not heard your name as far as touching lives is concerned which for us is a very key and important thing. So going forward, we think that we will find a way to highlight these events without unnecessarily taking advantage of the spotlight,” he noted.

Shortcode for charity

According to Mr. Pianim, eTranzact, as a technology company, has developed a short code for the Citi FM project which is currently undergoing  testing and will later be out-doored to facilitate donations from benevolent individuals.

Business Development Manager for Citi FM/Citi TV, Omane Mensah Bonsu, who received the donation on behalf of the station, thanked eTranzact for the kind gesture.

He used the opportunity to reach out to other benevolent individuals and organizations to also support the project being undertaken by the media house.

“On behalf of the management and staff of Citi FM and the Citi FM Foundation, I would like to thank you for this donation. We will use this money for the cause it was donated for and we also urge other companies to do the same,” he encouraged.
