The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced the reopening of its revamped digital portal meant for the 2025/2026 service year.

This step, according to the Authority’s Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ruth Dela Seddoh during a press briefing in Accra, is to promote efficiency, transparency and accountability in the administration’s dealings.

She further announced that the online registration portal will officially open from October 8, 2025 to October 15, 2025 – a one week duration – for all qualified National Service Personnel (NSP), while stressing a need to use only the office’s official website.

“The new registration process will only take place on the Authority’s official website – www.gnsa.gov.gh – and the service year is set to begin on Monday, November 3, 2025,” she highlighted.

The portal’s reopening follows a directive issued by President John Dramani Mahama in June 2025 to close the previous Central Service Management Platform (CSMP) – after an audit brought to light notable irregularities and weak data integrity in the system.

As the old portal’s contract ended in August, the CEO noted that it has been replaced with a more secure Artificial Intelligence-powered digital platform, which will promote fairness, improve user experience and curb fraud.

“We acknowledge that weak financial controls in the past have caused the state to lose millions of taxpayers funds. In light of this, management has taken steps to introduce stringent IT reforms and enhanced internal controls with proper banking trails to combat payroll fraud. Additionally, the Authority has collaborated with the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department and I’m pleased to assure you that payroll fraud will soon be a thing of the past,” she assured.

With the current system, each personnel will be entitled to a personalised digital dashboard containing posting details, institutional information, duty reports as well as allowance tracking while instructors, on the other hand, will have opportunity to request, manage and verify personnel through automated processes to help prevent delays.

Ms. Seddoh further indicated that the new platform embeds the National Identification database to verify the identity of personnel, which assists in eliminating ‘ghost names’.

Refunds and caution against fraudulent sites

The CEO confirmed that all registrations made in June 2025 on the closed CSMP will not be recognised due to irregularities and inconsistencies. However, all registration fees paid by personnel will be refunded.

She also cautioned personnel to be aware of fake websites parading as the Authority’s official website, noting that they have identified seven fraudulent sites.

Military training, agriculture and digital skills

Acknowledging the president’s directive on basic military training for NSPs, the Authority says it will collaborate with Ghana Armed Forces to instil discipline and civic responsibility into 10,000 personnel and a date will be announced when the time is due.

On agriculture, the NSA says it is moving beyond placement to promoting youth employment and innovation.

She revealed that the Authority currently has farms across all regions, including a modern poultry facility – adding that plans are being made to implement AI and agriculture technologies to improve productivity and attract the youth into agribusiness.

Also, service personnel will be supplied with a new Digital Skills Training Programme that provides practical training in digital marketing, web development and cybersecurity. This will improve their employability in a technology-driven economy.
