In an unprecedented moment for Ghana’s creative and professional landscape, Mistah Brown, known in real life as Dennis Nana Ekow Yeboah Amissah, makes history on Friday 4th July, 2025 as the first-male-banker in Ghana to officially launch a full music album while actively working as a banker.

His debut album, titled Testimony, launches this Friday, 4th July 2025 at Zen Garden, Labone at 5:00 PM prompt, offering an inspiring blend of Afro-fusion, reggae, highlife, and inspirational dancehall, all built around deep personal storytelling and lived experience.

A Dual Life in Perfect Harmony

By day, Mistah Brown is a Relationship Manager at GCB Bank PLC’s Commercial Banking Department, skillfully managing corporate portfolios and financial solutions. By night, he transitions seamlessly into his role as a passionate musician, songwriter, and performer.

What sets him apart even more is his proficiency in six musical instruments, demonstrating his dedication and technical mastery in music as much as in banking.

“Every song on this album carries a memory, a message, and a mission,” he shares. “As someone who walks between two worlds; finance and music, I pour my soul into these songs. This is for anyone chasing purpose while living through the challenges of life.”

A musical memoir in 15 tracks

The Testimony album, already described by early listeners as soulful and uplifting, features 15 tracks including:

Badmind, Ayalolo, Go This Way, Baako P3, Daavi, Alone (feat. Obibini), Shwele, Testimony (feat. Nicky B), Gbontos, Borkor, Hardwork, God Do Am, Abeka, Adapaa (feat. Kilo Beats), and MoMo (feat. Apuutor).

Production credits go to Skybeat Classic, Kilo Beat, Odikro Band, and John Amoah, with expert mixing and mastering handled by Appietus and Kin Dee. Each featured artist from Obibini to Apuutor brings unique texture to Mistah Brown’s personal narrative.

A Launch to Remember

The maiden launch at Zen Garden gathers fans, industry stakeholders, and fellow artists for an intimate evening of live music, storytelling, and celebration. From acoustic renditions to surprise guest appearances, attendees enjoy a multisensory experience that reflects the spirit of the album: resilience, redemption, and joy.

Mistah Brown also unveils exclusive merchandise and confirms that the full album is now live on all major digital streaming platforms.

This Is More Than Music – It’s A Movement

More than an artist, Mistah Brown continues to position himself as a voice for his generation. As a professional member of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), he has performed at major events including Akwaaba Fest and Ghana Music Month held at the National Theatre and Gold Coast Lounge respectively. His dedicated fanbase, known as the Aputumpata Movement, grows steadily and offers unwavering support.

In the lead-up to the official album launch, Mistah Brown hosted a series of pre-launch parties in the very communities where he grew up including Wik-End Bar in Awudome, Champions Hub in Lapaz, and Biggie’s Pub, Madina. These events served not only as warm-ups for the launch but as heartfelt gestures of gratitude and reconnection with the people who have supported him from the beginning.

“Mistah Brown is living proof that artistry and professionalism can go hand in hand,” remarked a fan at one of the community pre-launch gatherings.
