Through the company’s dedication to cultivating resilient communities and promote environmental stewardship, ASA has taken intitiative to partner schools to plant and nurture trees in support of Ghana’s Green Agenda.

The seedlings planted include mango, oil palm, guava, avocado, militia, ofram, mahogany, coconut, cedrella and umbrella tree.
Mr. Emmanuel Opare-Yeboah, the Area Manager of ASA admonished the management and students of the school to give more attention to the nurturing of the seedlings.
He stressed that the company’s aim is to promote environmental conservation and sustainability by encouraging citizens particularly students to plant and nurture the trees to combat deforestation.
The Sustainability Manager of ASA,Richard Nartey said this vital intervention is aimed at replacing depleted forest cover in the country and help with the reduction of greenhouse gases (GHG).
“Climate change has led to drastic changes in weather patterns, rising sea levels, and biodiversity destruction. As a result of our neglect of protecting the environment, most places are experiencing rising temperatures, floods, and most importantly shortage of water.”
Mr Joseph Halifax Amandeh, the assistant headmaster in charge of academics disclosed that planting of trees is a step towards ensuring a greener and sustainable future for our school and the nation at large.
“As a management member of this school, I have the responsibility of protecting the environment and so I will ensure this gesture from ASA doesn’t go waste,” Mr Amandeh added.
