SUNU Assurances Ghana, the local subsidiary of the pan continental, African indigenously owned multinational insurance group, has held its National Retail Conference & Performance Awards for 2025.
Hosted at the company’s head office in Accra, the event is held each year to recognize and award its top performing agents from all around Ghana.
One of the biggest insurance companies in Ghana, as measured by the annual premium income it generates, SUNU holds its agents in high esteem, because unlike most of its competitors, its dedicated agents are responsible for the biggest proportion of the underwriting businesses brought to it, rather than independent insurance brokerage firms.
The event was attended by the Board Chairman, Paa Kwesi Eduafo Yankey, representing the company’s Board of Directors; its executive and senior management team led by its MD/CEO, Matthieu Okou Gerard N’katta; both head office and branch offices staff; its agents from all around the country; as well as an array of other distinguished guests.
Speaking at the event, the company’s Managing Director, Mr N’katta noted that the event was being held to celebrate performance, commitment and excellence.
“This occasion is a recognition of the incredible work you, our agents, continue to do – reaching targets, serving clients with dedication, and pushing boundaries to grow the SUNU brand across Ghana” he asserted. “You are not just sales people; you are change makers, problem solvers and the face of SUNU in every home, shop and business you touch. Your achievements are the reason we are here – to say thank you and well done.”
Female head office agents emerged as the best performers, with Mercy Otabil emerging the overall best and Naomi Ofosu emerging the overall 2nd runner up, both of them sandwiching Kweku Essel from the Winneba Regional Office who was the 1st runner up.
At the Regional basis, Johnny Bernard Reynolds was the best agent at the head office; Salifu Adams was the best performer at the Sunyani office; Oliver Mensah at the Cape Coast office; Thomas Agbi at the Ho office; Alhassan Issaka at the Koforidua office; Mohammed Salia at the Kumasi office; and Nancy Osei-Poku at the Obuasi office.
At the Spintex office Stephen Kojo Ofosu emerged the top performer; Jonas Donkor at the Takoradi office; Musah Bin Sani at the Tamale office; Suzzy Ketti at the Tema office; and Ernest Sam Bruce at the Winneba office.
The top three performing agents at each office were honoured except at the Techiman office where only Losina Fusheini Mohammed was honoured as the top performer.
Extolling the awardees, Mr N’katta suggested that “as we reward outstanding results and exceptional efforts, let this moment remind us all of the power of resilience, teamwork and the pursuit of excellence” calling on the company’s staff to celebrate success and keep building a future defined by excellence.
