Afro-Arab Microfinance, a subsidiary of the Afro-Arab Group of Companies, has been recognised as the ‘Best Microfinance Company’ in Ghana at the prestigious 2025 Global Banking & Finance Review (GB&FR) Awards.

The ceremony, held in London, celebrated financial institutions driving innovation, inclusion, and economic growth worldwide.

The award acknowledges Afro-Arab Microfinance’s impactful work in women and youth empowerment, a cornerstone of its mission.

Through accessible microloans, entrepreneurial training, and community programmes, the company has become a key player in Ghana’s financial inclusion landscape.

Board Chairman and Founder of Afro Arab, Alhaji Salamu Amadu, dedicated the award to the company’s customers and team. “We are grateful to Allah and the organizers for this honor. This recognition validates our efforts in uplifting women and youth through financial support and education,” he said.

The Global Banking & Finance Review Awards, established in 2011, spotlight institutions excelling in financial services, fintech, and sustainable banking. Afro-Arab Microfinance stood out for its financial literacy initiatives, support for female entrepreneurs, and youth entrepreneurship programmes.

Its General Manager, Ebenezer Egyir Tetteh, highlighted the company’s commitment to underserved communities. “Our tailored microloans and mentorship programs aim to foster self-reliance. We thank our loyal customers—this achievement is theirs as much as ours.”

With over a decade of service, Afro-Arab Microfinance has empowered thousands of small businesses, leveraging mobile banking and financial education to broaden access. The award reinforces its reputation as a community-focused institution with global standards.

Looking Ahead

Buoyed by this recognition, Afro-Arab Microfinance plans to expand its reach in Ghana and explore regional partnerships in West Africa. Ambassador Amadu affirmed, “This award inspires us to do more. We remain dedicated to ethical banking and Ghana’s economic growth.”

As Ghana advances financial inclusion, Afro-Arab Microfinance continues to be a driving force in ensuring no one is left behind.
