The Royal Senchi Hotel and Resort has successfully hosted its first-ever golf tournament,
dubbed the Royal Senchi Invitational, to officially launch its newly developed golf course.
The event, held over last weekend, brought together 26 golfers from prominent golf clubs including Achimota, Tema and Sakumono, who gathered to experience the resort’s enhanced golfing facilities.
The event was attended by a collection of C-suite executives from corporate and private sector businesses including Passion Air, Delta Air Lines, KLM and Swissport, among others, with some participating in the game. Legal Luminary Justice Emile Short was one of the golfers who partook in the sport.
The tournament festivities began on Friday evening with an engaging lineup of activities such as bingo, gaming and karaoke.
Also, ahead of the main competition on Saturday was a unique night-golf session featuring the resort’s exclusive glow-in-the-dark golf balls, which added to the evening’s thrills.
Golfing patrons had an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the lush course before the friendly yet competitive round took place the next day.
Previously, the Royal Senchi only had a driving range as part of its recreational offerings.
However, with the development of a full-fledged golf course, the resort has expanded its appeal to both seasoned and amateur golfers.
Nestled within the resort’s expansive 35-acre grounds, the new golf course now stands as a significant addition to Senchi’s list of leisure facilities.
The resort’s management has announced plans to organize periodic events in the future, some of which will be tied to social causes while also promoting healthy living.
Additionally, they have invited enthusiasts of the prestigious sport to visit at any time and make use of the facility with the assistance of a trained guide available on-site.
The event was climaxed with an awards and dinner ceremony graced by the presence of Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III, king of Akwamu and overlord of the Akwamu Traditional Area.
The evening’s highlight was presentation of the top prize by the Akwamuhene to the CEO of Caveman Watches, who secured the most skins in the exhibition match.
