Chief Enterprise Business Officer-MTN, Angela Mensah-Poku, has announced that MTN will introduce a product specifically designed to support women entrepreneurs in the coming weeks.
Speaking at the National Women’s Summit and Expo, she indicated that this new product will offer women entrepreneurs access to market, mentorship and other amazing benefits.
“We will be launching a new product in the next few weeks that seeks to support women on their digital journey, give them access to markets, give them access to mentorship and capability training, as well as exciting products and services from MTN business,” she indicated.
The summit was organised to mark International Women’s Day (IWD), offering women SMEs a platform to exhibit and sell their products
Commenting on the 2025 IWD’s theme, Ms. Mensah-Poku said: “We believe that the theme ‘Accelerate for Action’ is one of the calls to duty and we are excited to be part of the summit”.
According to Ms. Mensah-Poku, MTN has extended its support to the summit because “to achieve economic parity you need to ensure that women are also empowered”.
To address the common yet key challenge among entrepreneurs – access to capital – she explained that they are partnering with banks, insurance companies, MTN Foundation, among others, to offer capability training, bookkeeping and marketing for beginners.
This step, she believes, will help women who are usually in the informal sector to have good records and the needed requirements to obtain funding from individuals and corporate institutions.
She underscored the ripple-effect of supporting women and emphasised the telecommunication giant’s commitment in always offering support to women-led businesses.
