Insurance brokers to host 2025 four-day annual conference

The 2025 edition of the annual conference and exhibition organized by the Insurance Brokers Association of Ghana (IBAG) is scheduled to take place at the serene Rock City Hotel in Kwahu Nkwatia, from March 18 to 22.

This annual event is organized and hosted by IBAG to bring together the various genres of insurance practitioners in Ghana – underwriters, brokers, reinsurers – their regulators and wider industry stakeholders including the judiciary and business owners/managers to discuss contemporary crucial issues affecting the industry.

This year’s edition will be held under the theme: “Leadership – Building resilience through co-operation and ethical conduct.” and 105 brokerage companies are being expected to be represented at the event.



At the opening ceremony, slated for Wednesday March 19, participants will be welcomed by an address by Shaibu Ali, President of IBAG.  The Chairperson for the event will be Dr Abiba Zakariah, Acting Insurance Commissioner and CEO of the industry regulator, the National Insurance Commission (NIC), who will deliver the keynote address.

Goodwill messages will be read from the National Insurance Commission, the Ghana Insurance Association (GIA), and the Chartered Insurance Institute Ghana (CIIG), followed by brie remarks from the event’s headline sponsor, SIC Insurance.

Following the opening ceremony the Exhibition that accompanies the conference will be opened.

The 1st Business Session will start with the main presentation delivered by Kenneth Kwamina Thompson, founder of Dalex Finance, on Leadership: building resilience through cooperation and ethical conduct.

This would be followed by the headline sponsor’s presentation by SIC Insurance and then a presentation on Insurance through the lens of a judge to be delivered by Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah Boafo.

The 2nd Business Session, to be held on March 20, will start with a presentation on “Navigating mental health in today’s world” to be delivered by Dr Justina Owu-Agyiri. This will be followed by another sponsors presentation.

Then a panel discussion will be held with Prince Kofi Amoabeng the acclaimed co-founder of the UT Group addressing Leadership through the lens of a renowned businessman and then famed footballer, Charles Kwabla Akonnor speaking on Leadership through the lens of former Black Stars Captain & Coach. The discussions will be moderated by IBAG President Shaibu Ali.

On the final full day of the event participants will visit a Mpraeso Senior High School where they will relax and engage in outdoor games – football, volleyball and table tennis.

Later in the day they will engage in indoor games for their relaxation before attending a dinner dance and awards ceremony in the evening and an after party, which will culminate the whole event.
