Team Linkbridge from PRESEC-Legon wins BCC 2025

Team Linkbridge from the Presbyterian Boy’s Secondary School (PRESEC)Legon has emerged as winners of the Business Cup Challenge 2025 – its second edition.

The challenge is organised by Lancaster University and designed to provide a platform for aspiring business students to showcase their innovative ideas, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Originally launched in 2015, the competition ran successfully until 2018 before taking a brief pause.



Through this competition, students are encouraged to assess real-life problems, analyse critical business scenarios, come up with and implement business plans to solve those problems and present a case to an academic and professional panel. Students get the opportunity to work as part of a team in a competitive environment and be guided by mentors.

The 2025 edition, themed ‘Internet of Things (IoT)’ focused on challenging High School students to envision the future and develop IoT-based solutions for business classes across various industries.

Team Linkbridge coming up as winners were awarded GH¢30,000 while Team Smartwave from Delhi Private School (DPS) International emerging as 1st runner-up were given an amount of GH¢15,000 and GH¢10,000 was awarded to Team Dominion from Dominion Christian Academy for being  second runner-up; each team received a certificate of participation.

Due to their stellar performances, Dennis Osei from PRESEC Legon and Parres Medie Darko from DPS International were honoured the with Best Male Pitch award and Best Female Pitch award respectively.

Deputy Provost and Associate Professor-Lancaster University Ghana, Cynthia Forson, in an interview stressed the BBC challenge’s importance, saying: “This is just a competition but one that fosters technological advancement, particularly in the realm of IoT”.

She further congratulated the winners and all participants, encouraging other schools to participate when another competition comes up.
