The Adisadel College Millennium (2000) Year Group is proud to host the 115th anniversary celebrations and Speech and Prize-Giving Day this March. This initiative continues the school’s long-standing tradition of alumni giving back to their alma mater 25 years after graduation.
As part of their commitment to Adisadel College, the Millennium Group has embarked on an ambitious project to remodel and refurbish the Job 600 block, transforming it into a modern multi-purpose facility suited to the evolving needs of education. The newly upgraded facility, which has been under construction for the past 10 months, will be officially unveiled during the anniversary celebrations from March 3 to 9, 2025.
A bold vision for the future
Explaining the rationale behind the group’s project, Richard Nii Amu Arthur, President of the Millennium (2000) Year Group, emphasised the importance of revitalizsng existing infrastructure to better serve the needs of students. “We realised that instead of constructing a new multi-purpose building, it was more prudent to remodel the dilapidated Job 600, which was no longer fit for purpose and did not reflect the status of Adisadel College as a leading institution of higher learning,” he stated.
He further noted: “We decided to enhance STEAM education in the school, which will significantly expand educational infrastructure and facilitate modern learning. As the first alumni group of the new millennium, we feel a strong obligation to set a high standard for our juniors and peers to follow”.
To bring the Job 600 building up to a world-class standard, the group needed to raise US$300,000, as the facility had not received any major renovation since its construction in the 1960s. The revitalised Job 600 multi-purpose building will feature:
- An amphitheatre
- Two physics laboratories
- A counselling centre
- A computer laboratory
- A Robotics Center
- Classrooms and staff rooms
- A NAMQ room
- A storage room
Additionally, the group is refurbishing the washrooms beneath the Job 600 block, transforming them into modern facilities that will serve all four houses in Upper School. These upgrades are designed to meet the highest global standards, reaffirming Adisadel College’s reputation as a beacon of academic excellence.
Commemorating 115 years of excellence
The 115th Speech and Prize-Giving Day will take place on March 8, 2025 under the theme ‘The Role of STEAM Education for National Development in the 21st Century’. The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Ave Kludze Klutse, a NASA scientist, visionary and proud Santa from the Class of ’83. The special guest for the event will be Otwasuom Osae Nyampong VI.
