Weta Chiefs commends Pres. Mahama for appointing Afetsi Awoonor as BOST MD

The Chiefs and people of the Weta Traditional Area, under the auspices of His Royal Majesty Togbiga Akpo Ashiakpor VI, have expressed their gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for appointing Mr. Afetsi Awoonor as the Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) Company.

In a letter signed by Zikpitor Cletus Kuzagbe, Secretary to the Weta Traditional Area, the Chiefs’ Council acknowledged the President’s recognition of capable leaders, particularly from the Weta community.

“This appointment not only reflects your commitment to recognizing capable leaders like Mr. Awoonor, whose expertise and dedication will significantly contribute to the success of BOST and the nation as a whole, but it has also brought immense pride and joy to the entire Weta community,” the letter stated.



The Council emphasised their confidence in Mr. Awoonor’s ability to excel in his new role, citing his alignment with the President’s developmental agenda.

“Your Excellency, Mr. Awoonor’s selection aligns with your reset agenda, and we are confident he will serve with excellence and integrity to meet your expectations. Once again, we express our sincere gratitude for this honour and assure you of our prayers and unwavering support as you continue to advance Ghana’s development,” the letter reads.

The Chiefs expressed optimism about Mr. Awoonor’s contributions to the oil and energy sector, particularly in advancing BOST’s mandate.

The Weta Traditional Area Chiefs’ Council reiterated their gratitude and pledged their support for ongoing national development efforts.

They assured the President of their prayers and unwavering support as he continues to spearhead Ghana’s progress.
