Yinson Production Ghana has empowered over 100 scholars through career guidance and counselling programmes.
The goal was to equip students with the skills, resources and confidence necessary to make informed decisions about their future educational and career paths.
Also, it allowed the scholars to gain deeper understanding of their interests, strengths, values and aspirations.
“Career guidance helps students uncover their unique talents and abilities, giving them clarity and direction as they explore different career paths,” said Anthony Attu, Financial Manager-Yinson.
He was speaking to Yinson scholars at their end of year get-together at the company’s Kejabil base in the Ahanta West municipality of Western Region.
He advised: “Choose a career that you have passion for, take a deep retrospective of yourself and be a giant in your chosen field by looking for a mentor to guide you”.
Edward Mensah, Yinson’s Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator, encouraged the Scholars not to fear.
“You are here because you are brilliant Senior High and university students. Break the barriers around you and never give up in life,” he said.
Mr. Mensah encouraged the students to have gratitude and not compare themselves with others.
Daniel Payne, Public Relations Officer-Ghana Education Service (GES) in Ahanta West municipality encouraged the scholars to never stop learning.
On Life Skills, Wisdom Adjah – Information Technology (IT) Supervisor at Yinson – encouraged the scholars to take up leadership positions whenever there is an opportunity.
“This makes you confident and prepares you for the future; take up voluntary work and don’t expect to get money out of it,” he said.
“Read about everything to gain knowledge, be focused, set academic goals and take leadership positions wherever you find yourself, and this makes you confident,” he concluded.
