Edward Osei Boakye Trust Fund supports KBTH Dental and Haematology departments

The Edward Osei Boakye Trust Fund has boosted healthcare delivery at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) with the donation of advanced equipment to the Dental and Haematology departments.

The Dental Unit received an ultra-modern dental chair worth GH¢345,006.35, while the Haematology Department was gifted a Laminar Flow Cabinet valued at GHC 198,000.00. These state-of-the-art contributions are expected to significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity to deliver quality patient care.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Dr. Matthew Boamah, Head of the Dental Unit, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the clinic. He emphasized the importance of the dental chair in improving patient experience and clinical efficiency.



“The new chair, equipped with advanced features, allows for smooth adjustments to ensure patients are comfortably reclined during procedures. Its integrated technology, including built-in lighting and tools, streamlines workflows and enhances precision for both routine and complex treatments,” he said.

Similarly, Dr. Amma Benneh Akwasi Kuma, Head of the Haematology Department, praised the foundation for its timely support. She noted that the Laminar Flow Cabinet will significantly enhance infection control and ensure a sterile environment for treating haematology patients.

Gerrard H.O. Boakye and Bishop Paul Boafo, representing the Edward Osei Boakye Trust Fund, reiterated the foundation’s commitment to supporting vulnerable populations and strengthening healthcare systems. “Our mission is to assist those in need and improve lives. We are proud to contribute to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital’s efforts to provide excellent healthcare services,” said Bishop Boafo.

The donation ceremony was attended by notable hospital officials, including the Acting CEO of KBTH, Dr. Frank Owusu Sekyere, Acting Director of Medical Services, Dr. Harry Akoto, Acting Director of Nursing Services, Mrs. Grace Anyomi, Director of Human Resources, Yehuza Jawula, and Head of Public Relations, Mustapha Salifu.

Both departments expressed profound appreciation for the foundation’s generosity, which they believe will play a critical role in improving patient outcomes and advancing the hospital’s mission of quality healthcare delivery.
