Go Help Africa, a Christian-based charity organization, has provided essential teaching and learning materials to the staff and pupils of Nyankpala D/A Primary School in the Tolon District of the Northern Region.

The support, part of the organization’s Zero to Hero Initiative, included exercise books, pencils, and magic board slates to enhance teaching and learning experiences. The initiative also focuses on improving the school’s physical infrastructure to ensure students have access to safe and conducive learning spaces.

Founded in 2014 by Sabrina Poole, with headquarters in the USA and Ghana, Go Help Africa has spearheaded various projects to empower women and children in marginalized communities. Notable achievements include the rehabilitation of the school’s JHS block in 2019, provision of roofing sheets in 2020, and donation of 60 dual desks.

The donation ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Tolon, Dr. Osman Tahidu Damba, SMC Chairman Mohammed Abdul-Shahadu, PTA Chairman Abdul-Wahab Alhassan, staff, pupils, traditional authorities, and community members.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive/President of Go Help Africa, Her Royal Highness Queen Amina Sabrina Poole, emphasized the organization’s mission to alleviate poverty and empower vulnerable groups through initiatives that promote education, gender equality, and social inclusion.

“Our Zero to Hero Initiative focuses on providing educational support, such as tuition assistance for brilliant but needy students, classroom furniture, teaching and learning materials, and capacity-building programs. This effort is aimed at fostering academic excellence and equipping children with better educational opportunities,” she said.

Queen Poole highlighted the importance of engaging local stakeholders to instill a sense of ownership and responsibility within the community for the school’s development.

Chief Ibrahim Mohammed of Nyankpala commended Go Help Africa for its continued support, noting the organization’s role in restoring the school’s infrastructure, which had been adversely affected by harsh weather conditions.

“Their efforts have significantly enhanced the learning environment, providing students with the tools needed for their education,” he remarked.

The head teacher of the school, Adam Aziz, expressed gratitude for the intervention, stating that the improved facilities and materials would encourage regular school attendance and active participation in learning.

“This support has transformed the school atmosphere, enabling uninterrupted teaching and learning activities,” he said.

Go Help Africa remains committed to its vision of creating a world of hope, tolerance and social justice, ensuring dignity and security for all.
