Sika Kroabea Company Limited, has clinched victory in the 2024 Standard Chartered (SC) Cup, defeating Ghana Link in a thrilling final on Saturday, November 30 at the Ghana International School Football Park.
The victory earned the corporate team an all-expenses-paid trip to Anfield to watch a Liverpool home game of their choice, courtesy of Standard Chartered Bank – the official sponsor of Liverpool Football Club.
The Tema-based team secured their win in a dramatic penalty shoot-out after the five-a-side match ended goalless in regulation time.
Both teams fought fiercely, knowing the grand prize at stake. Sika Kroabea’s goalkeeper emerged as the hero, saving three penalties to seal a 2-0 shootout victory.
As champions, the team received medals, a giant trophy and tickets for seven members to visit Anfield, which includes a stadium tour and the chance to watch a Liverpool home match.
The exciting soccer fiesta brought together some of the most skilled and passionate corporate and employee banking clients of the bank to compete to win the highly coveted trophy.
The tournament, designed to foster collaboration, competition and camaraderie among staff and clients of Standard Chartered, saw a competitive round of preliminary matches.

The 2024 Standard Chartered Cup, exclusively open to Standard Chartered clients, showcased eight teams divided into two competitive groups. Each team brought their A-game, battling fiercely for a spot in the semi-finals.
The top two teams from each group advanced to the next stage, setting the stage for thrilling match-ups as the stakes grew higher.
