The Automation Ghana Group (TAGG), through its subsidiary – Process and Plant Automation Ltd. (PPA), has supported some 21 students of the Batsonaa Primary and JHS in Accra with full educational scholarships, covering tuition levies, books and schoolbags, among other learning accessories.

The initiative, dubbed the PPA Future Leaders’ Educational Fund, forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects established to cater for the educational needs of children who are brilliant, but needy.

TAGG has been running the PPA Future Leaders’ Fund & Scholarship programme for pupils of the Baatsona Primary and JHS since 2016, with this year being the ninth edition.

Human Resource and Administration Manager of TAGG, Winnie Wekete Sinabisi, speaking at the award presentation ceremony, emphasised that over the years, the brand has been dedicated to the course of keeping pupils identified as being at risk of dropping out of school due to financial burden of levies and school supplies in school, until they complete Junior High School so they can, at least, have a basic education.

“For the 2023 academic year, we enrolled 21 pupils from KG one to JHS three; and we are happy to have maintained all of these pupils on the scholarship programmme for this year with the exception of those who have successfully completed their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

“For the 2024 Academic year, we are awarding scholarships to a total of 21 pupils from KG one to JHS three. We have two pupils joining the scholarship programme this year, replacing the completed ones. These pupils are Emmanuel Dzisseko and Emmanuella Kutah,” she said.

All 21 pupils received paid school levies, school uniforms, school bags, shoes and textbooks, among other school stationery.

Another initiative of the company, the ‘Infinity Club’, also continues to expand its reach, developing the literacy abilities of the kids and inculcating the habit of reading among them from an early stage.

“The Infinity Club sessions have run successfully over the last academic year; and we realised a great deal of interest from the pupils. We found more pupils interested than we anticipated, compelling us to increase the numbers from 24 to 74 pupils. We are proud that today, some of our pupils from the Infinity Club have been able to demonstrate their learnings,” she added.
