The Africa Bitcoin Community (ABC) has successfully ended its inaugural Financial Literacy Summer Camp with the participation of 50 students. Hosted at the Accra Technical Training Centre (ATTC), the program spanned four sessions, equipping teens and high school students with essential financial skills to guide them toward financial independence.
Facilitated by Bitcoin educator Nathaniel Dwamena, the camp covered essential topics like Money Management, The Concept of Money, Budgeting, Saving and Investing, Bitcoin and Digital Assets, as well as Achieving Financial Independence. Through hands-on workshops and practical exercises, students gained a deeper understanding of financial literacy that will help them make informed financial decisions.
As part of the practical activities, students made presentations on various topics covered during the camp. The best-performing group was awarded prizes in recognition of their efforts.
During the closing session on 23rd August 2024, participants were awarded certificates and provided with learning materials to support them in applying the knowledge gained during the camp.
Speaking about the initiative Programs Manager at Africa Bitcoin Community (ABC), Prince Akpah noted that ABC remains committed to fostering financial education across the continent with annual financial literacy summer camps to empower the next generation and have more financially independent youngsters. He also noted that this initiative will expand to other African countries, with the goal of impacting over 10,000 young people across the continent.
The Africa Bitcoin Community is dedicated to promoting financial literacy and the adoption of Bitcoin across Africa. Through initiatives like the Financial Literacy Summer Camp, ABC empowers young Africans to take charge of their financial futures and provides them with a unique opportunity to learn about Bitcoin and digital money.
As organisers of the annual Africa Bitcoin Conference, this effort is part of ABC’s broader vision to promote Bitcoin adoption and economic empowerment throughout Africa.
