The Ghana Football Association (GFA) in collaboration with the France Football Federation (FFF) has organised a Coaching Exchange Programme (CEP) for 23 female national teams and club coaches for continuous development
The week-long intensive training session took place at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence (GSCE) from Monday 3rd June to Friday, June 7, 2024, aimed at building the capacity of participants and enhancing technical capabilities of coaches in Ghana.
The certificate course marks a significant milestone in their coaching careers, equipping them with enhanced skills and knowledge tthat contribute to the development of football in Ghana.
The collaboration between GFA and the FFF underscores the importance of international partnerships in advancing the quality of football coaching and development. The CEP is part of a broader initiative to build capacity and enhance the technical capabilities of coaches in Ghana.
International Training Experts, Lafargue Jean-Claude and Ludovic Debru provided expert instruction and shared valuable insights with the participants throughout the training session to ensure they are well-equipped to demonstrate professionalism in their duty of work.
Technical Director-GFA, Professor Isaac Kwame Mintah, at the closing ceremony congratulated the beneficiaries, urging them to put into practice everything learned during the CEP workshop to aid in talent development for the nation.
He also expressed his sincere, heartfelt gratitude to the international organising partners for their unwavering support in developing the country’s sports .
“We at the GFA are very grateful to the France Football Federation and French Embassy for this wonderful programme. But our biggest appreciation goes to you (the instructors), Jean-Claude and Ludovic, for your time and the expertise you have shared.
“To you the participants, this is another plus. You have just added to your knowledge-bank, and this must show in your subsequent coaching. Congrats to you all and I wish you all the best in your coaching endeavours,” he said.
Prof. Mintah further highlighted the significance of such programmes in facilitating football’s growth in Ghana. “This coaching exchange programme is a testament of our commitment to continuous learning and development. The knowledge and skills acquired by our coaches will undoubtedly contribute to improving football at both the national and club levels,” he stated.
With the dedication of instructors, coordinators and facilitators, and enthusiastic participation of the coaches, the programme has significantly contributed to enhancing coaching quality in Ghana.
The GFA looks forward to more of such collaborations in future, aimed at furthering the development of football in the country.
Janice Odonkor, Head of the Business Development Unit-GFA, served as the project coordinator, ensuring the programme’s smooth execution.
All 23 participants were awarded certificates signifying their successful participation in the intensive course.
