Benonita Bismarck adjudged Outstanding Public Service CEO

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) Ms. Benonita Bismarck has been awarded the “Outstanding Public Service CEO of the Year 2022” in the shipping and logistics industry.

The award was conferred on her at the “Ghana Entrepreneurs and Corporate Executives Awards and Summit 2023” held in Accra to commemorate the United Nations World Public Service Day 2023.

The award was in recognition of her transformative leadership that has seen the GSA champion initiatives such as the nationwide sensitization on the Bank of Ghana’s Letter of Commitment (LOC) to promote compliance by exporters, nationwide workshops on the procedures and opportunities available to shippers under the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), seminars on the avoidance of demurrage among others which have helped to position the Authority as the lead public institution promoting trade facilitation.

Over forty (40) CEOs in the public and private sectors were honoured during the awards ceremony, which was held at the Labadi Beach Hotel on Friday, 23rd June 2023.

The Director General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), Ambassador Edward Boateng called for more Public-Private partnerships in all sectors of the economy to ensure sustained growth.

The Ghana Entrepreneurs and Corporate Executives Awards and Summit is an initiative of the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Ghana to celebrate and honour successful entrepreneurs and Public Service CEOs who have had significant and positive impacts on the economy, and also adhered to good corporate governance.
