The BabyNest and parents representing their little angels were delighted to touch the lives of other little angels who receive treatment from this facility.

As you may be aware, The BabyNest is the preferred pre-school in Accra today. They have been providing quality Early Childhood Development and Care Services for 18 years and counting, with five beautiful facilities spread across the city of Accra, viz. Dansoman, University of Ghana Campus, Westlands, Osu and East Legon.

A few years ago, the school took a decision to embark on a corporate social responsibility initiative to touch the lives of some less-privileged children who, through no fault of theirs, find themselves in very awkward situations.

On February 14 – St. Valentines Day – each year, it reaches out to these less-privileged little Angels (children) and involve their parents who represent their little angels at The BabyNest to carry out this corporate social responsibility initiative, with the objective to inculcate the virtues of charity and love for fellow man in our early learners.

The initiative is called The BabyNest I-CARE Day. This year, the Paediatric Recovery Ward at the Anaesthetic Department at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital is the beneficiary of I-CARE DAY goodies, and they were extremely excited to be part of this transforming initiative.

The Managing Director The BabyNest Limited, Mr. Eben-Kay Hodo, said: “As part of our corporate social responsibility initiative, we are very much aware of the trauma and uneasiness some little children go through before, during and after surgery. It is in light of this that this facility was chosen in order to bring some comfort to children while they undergo treatment here; as well to have fond memories and experiences of their stay at the facility.

In view of this, Dr. Phyllis Bosque-Hamilton stated that the Paediatric Ward records over 100 cases in a month and 1,200 annually.

According to her, the Paediatric Recovery Department is the first point of call for referral patients with intervention and emergency, where they are first stabilised before being admitted to the wards for treatment.

Speaking with the media during the commissioning of the refurbished Paediatric Recovery Ward by The BabyNest Limited at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. Dr. Phyllis Bosque-Hamilton said that she is extremely excited about the transformative initiative by The BabyNest in scouting and selecting their facility to be the beneficiary of their annual I-CARE DAY Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative.

She also confirmed the a trauma and uneasiness some little children go through before, during and after surgery. The medical team and other stakeholders were extremely grateful for the choice made by The BabyNest. And just like Oliver Twist, they asked for more collaborations in the future.
