Over 200 graduate from IDMC

About 286 people have graduated with dual certificates in professional digital marketing communication from the Institute for Digital Marketing and Communication (IDMC) Ghana.

They graduated with a professional certificate in ‘Digital Marketing and Advanced Communication’ as well as an extra certificate in elective programmes, as the first cohort.

Director of Training and Innovation at IDMC, Martin Thompson Ntem, speaking at the graduation ceremony in Accra, mentioned that 112 participants offered Corporate and Brand Communication, 33 Political Marketing Communication, 68 Social Marketing and Development Communication, and 73 studied Strategic Public Relations Management.



Touching on the training, he said: “With growing access to the internet in Ghana and the global communities, people leverage this for online trading, sales, and marketing of products and services. At IDMC, we train people on what to communicate and how to communicate. Participants are therefore taken through ways of creating relevant and attractive content that gives value.”

The innovative course was created to assist individuals and organisations to enhance their communication methods and marketing skills in today’s quickly evolving digital environment.

The topics treated include search engine optimisation (SEO), social media marketing, email marketing, content creation and marketing and digital marketing strategy and campaigns.

Other topics are language and effective communication, presentation skills, crisis communication, and advanced communication techniques.

Some participants described the curriculum as well-tailored to meet their needs, whether beginners or advanced digital marketers.

The dual certificate course in comprehensive digital marketing and advanced communication was introduced this year.

Lead Facilitator at IDMC, Dr. Modestus Fosu, in his address, noted that with the rapid pace of technological development, employees should become lifelong learners so as to remain competitive in today’s workplace.

“With the continuous emergence of new technologies and new business practices, the skills that were required to succeed yesterday are not the same as those required to succeed today or tomorrow. This is why IDMC Ghana exists to close that skills gap,” he said.

The facilitators included a team of experienced digital marketing professionals and communication experts, such as: Dean of the Faculty of Integrated Communication Science, Ghana Institute of Journalism, Dr. Modestus Fosu; Dean of School of Graduate Studies and Research, Ghana Communication Technology University, Dr. Ebenezer Malcalm; and Dr. Lawrencia Agyepong.

Others are Dr. James K. Asante, Ken Awuku, Benjamin Alpha Aidoo, Noel Nutsugah, Paulina Kuranchie, Lana Ghandour, and Martin Thompson Ntem.
