GEXIM presents prize for 1st runner-up for 38th National Farmers’ Day

Ghana Export-Import Bank on Wednesday donated an LS plus 80 HP 4WD MF Tractor and its Accessories to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) as the 1st Runner-Up prize for this year’s 38th National Farmers’ Day celebration.

Isaac Amissah-Aidoo, General Manager-Finance and Strategy, on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer made the presentation at the ministry’s premises in Accra.

The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Accelerating Agriculture Development through Value Addition’.



Presenting the keys to Yaw Frimpong Addo, Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture Mr. Isaac Amissah-Aidoo said the Bank has been supporting the event with a tractor and its accessories as the 1st Runner-Up prize for the past 22 years; and added that this annual partnership with MoFA will motivate our farmers, fisher-folk and all stakeholders in the agriculture value chain to increase production, add value to raw materials, and produce made-in-Ghana products for domestic consumption and exports.

‘’We believe in financing the agriculture sector to play its role in the nation’s development, especially adding value through processing to export,’’ he stressed.

Receiving the tractor and its accessories, Mr. Addo expressed appreciation to government and the ministry for the Bank’s consistent support even in times like the current worldwide economic crisis, and lauded the Board and Management of Ghana Export-Import Bank for responding positively to this national call.

This year’s 38th Awards will be held on Friday, December 2nd 2022 at Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
