Amansie Rural Bank PLC at Antoakrom in the Amansie West district of Ashanti Region has taken second position in the Ghana Club 100 rural banking sector.
Of the 147 rural banks in the country, 11 made it into the prestigious annual compilation of top 100 companies in Ghana that gives recognition to successful enterprise building – of which Amansie Rural Bank picked 41st spot, registering it as the second rural bank to appear on the list coming from the top after Amenfiman Rural Bank.
This is the fourteenth time in a series that the bank has received this recognition for outstanding financial results, exceptional management and leadership, and positive contribution to prosperity of the people. The bank is highly recognised as a long-standing member of Ghana Club 100.
The esteemed Ghana Club 100’s 19th edition was organised by the Ghana Investment Promotion Council at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra, and was celebrated under the patronage of Senior Minister, Yaw Osafo Marfo, under the theme ‘Ghana’s Private Sector, a Catalyst for Post-Pandemic Economic Transformation’.
The event identified and celebrated the best one-hundred businesses in Ghana, and also awarded the leading company in each of the strategic sectors: that is the Best Company in Agriculture and Agribusiness, Financial Services, Information and Communication Technology, Services, Infrastructure, Petroleum and Mining Services, Manufacturing, Tourism, Health, and Education.
Amansie Rural Bank PLC has recorded tremendous growth in all indicators for the past six years, vigorously penetrating the marketing and making very positive financial impacts.
The bank’s total deposits grew significantly from approximately GH¢160million in 2020 to a little over GH¢76.2million for 2021, representing 10.38% growth.
The bank’s stated capital as at December 2021 stood at approximately GH¢4.2million, significantly above the regulatory requirement of GH¢1million. This is an indication that Amansie Rural Bank PLC is sufficiently capitalised for the banking business.
Commenting on the award, CEO of the bank Frederick Kwakye Kyei said to be recognised as among the first hundred companies in Ghana comes with a lot of challenges and responsibilities to maintain or improve upon the bank’s performance.
“As a bank with this recognition, we must spare no effort to live up to the expectations of our customers and ensure that we do things right, particularly in the area of corporate governance and regulatory compliance; and be persistent with our vision and mission while continuing to pride ourselves as the most reliable financial partner in the rural banking sector of the banking industry.
“The bank has just been rebranded with the primary objective to extend its district representation, and has a new corporate identity and improved services as well as innovative products. The bank’s rebranding is the first of its kind and unprecedented in the rural banking industry”
Mr Kwakye Kyei finally dedicated the award to all customers, shareholders and employees of the bank for their commitment to the Amansie Bank brand.
