Over 200 people have benefitted from ASA Savings and Loans Limited’s (Anaji Business Centre) medical health screening in Takoradi.
They were screened and tested on Malaria, Hepatitis, Blood Pressure, Sugar level, among others. GH¢4,944.14 was spent on this health screening, including medication.
The Branch Manager of the Business Centre, Mrs. Sabina Boateng, in her remarks, said the medical screening exercise is organised periodically for clients and the communities in which the company operates across the country.
“The goal is to let them know their health status, and for the medical team to also educate them on how they can control and prevent certain diseases, especially within the community,” she said.
The Anaji Area Manager of the company, Mr. Samuel Odoom, also explained that the health screening forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
He added that the gesture is to help those who cannot afford healthcare, and that ASA would continue to support the people in the area.
Head of the Medical Team, Mrs. Helena Gaisie, mentioned that the most occurring diseases after the screening were malaria and high blood pressures.
She counselled them to minimise their in-take of salt, sugar and alcohol. She further encouraged them to exercise regularly, have enough rest, ensure good dieting, as well as keep their environment clean.
Madam Elsie Dogbey expressed gratitude to ASA for periodically organising the health screening.
