He promised to work assiduously to support government’s human capital development agenda and also to make CIHRM Ghana a professional institute of choice. Dr. Kwapong assured the Minister of Education of his outfit’s determination to closely collaborate with him to sanitise the market and weed out charlatans who parade themselves as HR practitioners without proper certification and accreditation.

The Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners was founded in 1978 with the mission of improving human resource management practice in Ghana. It was registered as a professional body in 1981. Subsequently, the institute’s HR bill was passed by Parliament on June 4, 2020 and secured a Presidential assent on August 13, 2020. Thus, since then the institute has operated under the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management Ghana Act, 2020 (Act 1020). The Regulation (Legislative Instrument-LI) to operationalise the Act 1020 is currently being worked on for Parliamentary approval.
