Bui Power Authority has been adjudged a top 100 Brands Across Industry and Community Impact Brand of the Year for the successful implementation of the BPA Resettlement Programme and Livelihood Enhancement Programme for Project Affected Persons.

The award programme, National Brands Innovation Awards, provides an opportunity for high-performing individuals, teams and organisations who implement world-class business initiatives and develop innovative products and services to be acknowledged and celebrated for their achievements – both nationally and internationally.

The Bui Power Authority (BPA) is the operator of the 404megawatt Hydro Power Plant and 50megawatt peak solar farm, both located at the Bui Generating Station which lies in between the Bono and Savannah Regions of Ghana, as well as operators of the 45kilowatts Mini-hydro Power Plant at the Tsatsadu Generating Station located at Alavanyo in the Volta Region.

The Bui Power Authority was established by an Act of Parliament, BPA Act 740, with a mandate to plan, execute and manage the Bui Hydro-electric Project, now the Bui Generating Station (BGS). The BPA Act was amended in 2020 (Bui Power Authority (Amendment) Act, 2020) Act 1046, to enable BPA to develop its Renewable Energy and other clean energy alternatives in the country.
