A delegation from Niger Republic has visited the National Accreditation Board(NAB) to understudy its operations in a bid to set up a similar body to regulate tertiary education and assure quality in their country.
Madam Sabo Haoua Seini, the Secretary-General of Niger’s Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation led the five-member delegation.
In his presentation, the Executive Secretary of NAB, Kwame Dattey took the team through the Accreditation process and the various mechanisms the Board has put in place to ensure quality tertiary education in Ghana. A member of the visiting team, Prof Boureima Amadou stated that they settled on Ghana because of the widely acknowledged reputation of the National Accreditation Board as an outstanding regulator of tertiary education in Africa.
They also visited two tertiary education institutions, University of Professional Studies and Radford University College to have a first-hand experience of how the work of NAB has contributed positively to the strengthening of their quality assurance systems.
Officials of the UNESCO Ghana office accompanied the team to NAB.
