Leadership of the Kwahu Professionals Network (KPN) have paid a courtesy call on the management of Business and Financial Times (B&FT) to discuss ways of further deepening collaborations between the two institutions.

Leading the team for KPN was Prince Boateng, President of the Kwahu Professional Network; with Head of Events and Planning Committee, Richard Nyarko Sarpong; and Communications Director, Felix Darfour.

In attendance from the B&FT were Dr. Godwin Acquaye, Chief Executive Officer; Cindy Nortey, Executive Assistant to the CEO; Rhoda Naa Mensah, Head of Human Resources; and Francis Botchway Dadzie, Finance Manager.

Mr. Boateng, President of KPN, noted that a partnership between KPN and B&FT is part of efforts to provide an effective media platform to engender tourism development in the Kwahu vicinity and the country at large.

With time fast approaching annual celebrations of the Kwahu Easter festival, Mr. Boateng believes the B&FT platform will not only serve the purpose of highlighting the cultural heritage of Kwahu but also convey community cohesion.

“We started collaborations a year ago, but this time around we thought it wise to have a deeper collaboration with the B&FT to strengthen the already existing relationship. Coming Easter, we will not only want to put Kwahu in the limelight but also create more awareness about the Kwahu attraction centres. As we all know, tourism is the fourth-highest foreign exchange earner for the country, and the country benefits immensely from tourism and its related activities,” he said.

Mr. Boateng added that collaborating with Africa’s leading provider of business information will not only help with the discovery of untapped potential in the tourist sector, but further project ways to build those discoveries.

“We need to work on untapped tourist attractions in Kwahu, and we can only do that through our media publications. B&FT is not just a normal media outlet but one of the best business information providers, and that is the reason why we need this partnership going forward,” he noted.

The CEO of B&FT assured KPN of B&FT’s readiness in supporting their initiatives to improve tourism in the country. He lauded KPN for projecting Kwahu on the global map as a destination of choice, not only during the annual Easter festivals but all year round.

“As the leading business information provider in Ghana, we are always looking for innovative ways to project the things that can add value to the country’s economic development, and we do these mostly with business institutions.

“More of such collaborations are required to boost the developmental agenda of Ghana; and following the maiden edition of BrandCON Africa 2022, B&FT is particularly intent on projecting indigenous brands – and this initiative is proof of our preparedness to help elevate local brands to the international market,” he said.

He revealed some of the events the company hosts – the Ghana Economic Forum (GEF), The Money Summit (TMS) and the quarterly Ghana’s Most Respected CEOs (GMRCEOs) Breakfast Series – as part of its contribution to the business landscape and economic development of the country, adding that KPN can leverage some of these events to inform Ghanaians on the importance and impact of tourism.

“Our priority is to give information for the business community to make informed decisions to build their organisations and the nation at large, and KPN can explore some of these events,” he noted.
