Ahweraseman celebrates Odwira in grand style

This year’s Odwira festival of the people of Ahwerase Akuapem in the Akuapem South District of the Eastern Region was marked with beauty and colorful celebrations throughout the week long period.

The chiefs and people of the community came together to celebrate the occasion in oneness and unity joined by indigenes from in and out of Ahwerase to celebrate the week-long event.

In a mini durbar at the palace, Chief of the area, Osaaberima Professor Opare-Addo II, in a statement, charged the people of the town to take the destiny of the town in their own hands till government comes in to help while encouraging parents to see to the proper upbringing of their children.



He also outlined some problems facing the community and asked for government support and commended the MP of the area, O.B Amoah, for his support to the community throughout his tenure in office even as he encouraged him to do more.

District Chief Executive, Frank Aidoo, assured the community that he will renovate the JHS which is in a deplorable state and also help expand the already existing CHPS compound and work on a bypass road that in the community.

Member of Parliament for the area, O.B Amoah, promised to support the DCE in his capacity as the Local Government Minister to fast track all the outlined projects.

The beautiful culture that was displayed over the weekend was graced with fun and merry making where young men and women including the some old folks were spotted dancing to the tune of all kind of music.

The serene Ahwerase Akuapem mountain was just a place to be over the weekend.
