The Business and Financial Times’ (B&FT)senior Business reporter, Yaw Osei Owusu Amankwaah, has been adjudged the Nuclear Energy Reporter of the Year, grabbing the Nuclear Star Award at the 25th Ghana Journalists’ Association (GJA) Awards ceremony.

The Nuclear Energy category which is making a maiden entry into the GJA Awards, is sponsored by Nuclear Power Ghana (NPG), and is aimed at rewarding the journalist that has devoted immense resources to write comprehensive stories that project Ghana’s Nuclear Programme.

According to NPG, the award was instituted to encourage reporting on the Energy Sector especially nuclear energy.

Mr. Amankwaah, aside reporting on the Nuclear Energy Programme, is also a seasoned Business Journalist, with specialty in Ports & Maritime. He beat competition in the keenly contested category with his articulate articles which included nuclear energy to power nation’s base-load by 2030, nation’s nuclear site, and major industrialisation push to go nuclear energy.

The 25th GJA awards ceremony held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, to acknowledge distinguished journalists and media institutions, presented several awards to individuals and institutions.
