Stop Coronavirus Ghana, in partnership with the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and Jeanie JQ, has launched the ‘Rock Your Mask: It’s A Must’ campaign.

The goal of the initiative is to raise awareness and encourage the wearing of face masks by all to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 through various creative and innovative online and offline activities to ensure the communication connects well with the general public.

Also, the campaign seeks to distribute free locally manufactured non-medical fabric facial masks to the vulnerable in various communities and organisations.

Celebrities such as Bella Mundi, Lydia Forson, Reggie Rockstone, Dentaa Amoateng (MBE), Van Vicker, Fanny Face, and many others have already lent their voluntary support to help drive the campaign.

Research has shown a significant reduction in the spread of the virus in some COVID19 affected countries in Asia and Europe where the whole population wore homemade masks. It served as a barrier between infected and uninfected people from breathing in the virus readily. Clearly – I protect you, you protect me.

Over 2,000 free non-medical locally produced fabric face mask have already been distributed to the vulnerable in various communities and organisations by Stop Coronavirus in partnership Jeanie JQ, a fashion accessory brand led by Jeanette Quashie.

“The campaign will enhance our efforts in distributing free masks for the vulnerable and the use of face masks by the general public. We call on corporate, religious, traditional leaders and celebrities to help in driving the campaign to combat the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana,” Stephen Gyasi-Kwaw, Campaign Coordinator, Stop Coronavirus Ghana, said.
