The Rotary Club of Tema-Community 25 holds  charter and fundraising dinner

The Rotary Club of Tema-Community 25 held a fundraising dinner last Saturday September 12, 2020.

This event was aimed at raising funds for the Club’s flagship project for this Rotary year which is to construct a school library and washroom with support to improving the learning environment in some selected schools within the Ningo Prampram District.

Speaking at the event was the guest speaker PRID Sam Okudzeto who admonished all Rotarians, Rotractors and guests present to live by the four way test and promote a clean Ghana campaign aimed at helping improve the sanitation situation in the country.

Rotary District 9102’s first female Governor Yvonne Kumoji-Darko presented the charter certificate as well as the rotary pins to the 27 charter members.

She advised all and sundry to be actively engaged in the service of Rotary which is service above self and promote Rotary through their actions in their communities. “It’s about being humble and kind not being famous and popular in helping make lasting change that matters as a Rotarian”. Respect Rotary’s core values and learn to live inspiring Rotary stories with your lives.

Others present included the Mayor of Tema Felix Mensah Nii Anang-La the District Governor Elect Victor Asante, members of the extension committee, representatives from the Rotary Club of Tema- Meridian the sponsoring club, Club AGs, Rotarians, Rotractors and guests from District 9102 and beyond.  Kingdom Exim Ghana Limited and the Tema Mayor pledged support to the club’s flagship project.

Since receiving it charter certification, the club has inducted 8 new and 2 honorary members bringing the total membership now to 37. Celebrating the club and its achievements, 6 of its members were recognized as Paul Haris Fellows (PHF). These are individuals who are able to support the Rotary foundation with a thousand dollars within a rotary year. The club was chartered on July 3, 2020 with 27 members. The club has adopted Sundays 5:30 pm at the Tema Community 25 Meeting Center as its meeting day, time and venue respectively.

This well attended event which took place at the Rotary Centre in Tema Community 5 was graced by PRID Sam Okudzeto, the District Governor Yvonne Kumoji-Darko, representing the sponsoring club was the club advisor and Past President Elvina. Past Assistant Governor Isaac Aninakwah of the extension committee and current club Assistant Governor Frank Ankamah.
