Ghanaian writer and novelist, Isaac Parbey, is set to captivate readers again with the release of his third and fourth books this July.
Following the success of his debut novel Saving Rainbow (2020) and his short story collection The Beautiful Side of Things (2024), Parbey now returns with Where Lisa Went Wrong, an honest novel about love, ambition, and the cost of dreams — and A Perfect Blend of Cocktails, a moving anthology of stories exploring faith, longing, and the heartbreaks of everyday life.
Where Lisa Went Wrong, Parbey’s third book and second novel, follows the story of Lisa, a woman who set out to achieve the perfect life — a flourishing career, a loving husband, and beautiful children. But the life she longed for begins to unravel, leaving her to confront the question: Where did it all go wrong? With tender prose and emotional depth, the novel probes the struggles that often hide beneath polished appearances.
A Perfect Blend of Cocktails, his fourth publication, is a collection of three stories that explore the complex journeys of modern Ghanaian women and the subtle textures of their inner lives. In A Thousand Sons, Hannah grapples with infertility and spiritual doubt. Love Likes Ours sweeps Lydia, a cautious planner, into an unexpected whirlwind of romance. And in A Monday Affair, Amanda—a single mother—navigates loneliness and hope for new love. Together, these stories illuminate the intersections of faith, love and identity.
Isaac Parbey is a versatile writer whose work spans fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, and screenplays. An English teacher by profession, he is also the founder of The Storyboard Café — a creative space dedicated to bridging arts and wellness.
